IT IS OBSERVED THAT THE FLAG LOCATED AT THE TOP OF THE TEMPLE DOME ALWAYS WAVES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF AIRFLOW.
FACT 2. THE SUDARSHAN CHAKRA STANDING AT THE TOP OF THE TEMPLE IS 20 FEET IN HEIGHT AND WEIGHT A TON. IT IS SAID TO BE VISIBLE FROM EVERY CORNER OF THE CITY AND IT IS INSTALLED IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT MAKES YOU FEEL THAT IT IS FACING TOWARD YOU IRRESPECTIVE OF THE PLACE YOU ARE IN.
FACT 3. THERE IS AN OCEAN NEAR THE TEMPLE. WHEN YOU’RE ENTERING THE SINHADWARAM (THE MAIN DOOR) OF THE TEMPLE YOU CAN CLEARLY HEAR THE SOUND OF THE OCEAN, NOW ONCE YOU PASS THE SINHADWARAM JUST TAKE A TURN AND WALK BACK IN THE SAME DIRECTION YOU CAME. YOU CAN NOT HEAR THE OCEAN UNTIL YOU COME OUT OF THE TEMPLE.
FACT 4. THE TEMPLE IS REPORTED TO HAVE NO SHADOW AT ALL, AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY FROM ANY DIRECTION POSSIBLE.
FACT 5. IN HINDU MYTHOLOGY, WASTING FOOD IS CONSIDERED A BAD SIGN; THE TEMPLE CREW FOLLOWS THE SAME. THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PEOPLE VISITING THE TEMPLE VARIES BETWEEN 2,000 TO 2,00,000 PEOPLE EVERY DAY. MIRACULOUSLY, THE PARSADAM PREPARED EVERY DAY WAS NEVER WASTED, NOT EVEN A BITE.
FACT 6. THE TRADITIONAL WAY TO COOK THE MAHA PARSADAM IS PRESERVED BY THE PRIESTS HERE. EXACTLY SEVEN POTS ARE USED AS VESSELS MOUNTED OVER ONE ANOTHER AND ARE COOKED USING FIREWOOD. ENCHANTINGLY, THE TOPMOST POT IS COOKED FIRST, AND THE REST FOLLOWS THE SAME ORDER!
